Proper nutrition, physical and social activity are the cornerstones of longevity. In an interview with RT said chief geriatrician of the Ministry of health Olga Tkacheva.

She recalled that the infirmity in the first place is due to atrophy of the muscles. Only physical activity will help keep muscle strength and mass, and thus to prolong youth. It is also important not to forget about a balanced diet which must contain enough veggies and fruits. The third important principle is social activity. The more people demand, the longer he lives, said the anesthetist.

Tkachev explained that this basic principles, but not all. For the preservation of life and health it is also important to get enough sleep to control blood pressure and cholesterol and give up bad habits.

For the training of the mind and memory are very important cognitive training: learning foreign languages, memorizing poems and songs, crossword puzzles and other mental exercises, the doctor added.
