The special representative of the US State Department in Ukraine Kurt Volker said that the presence of Russian forces in the sea of Azov «has become very provocative and aggressive,» reports Ukrainian news Agency UNIAN.

On Saturday the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in an interview to Washington Post said that Russia is blocking the visits of ships in the sea of Azov with the aim of «occupation.» According to him, Ukraine has absolutely clear the legal status of the Azov sea, why Russia «has no right to attack or to stop ships carrying goods and passengers from two important ports of Ukraine — Mariupol and Berdyansk». The head of the public chamber of the Crimea Grigory Ioffe called ridiculous assumption the statement of the Kiev authorities about the desire of Russia to occupy the sea of Azov.

«We are very concerned about this. We do not accept the Russian allegations (internal) territories in the waters… And we believe that the presence of Russian forces has become very provocative and aggressive step,» he said on Saturday Walker in Kiev.

Kiev accuses Moscow of blocking cruise ship arrivals, which follow in the ports of Ukraine through the Kerch Strait, which the court supposedly stand for, and their owners suffer losses. While Deputy foreign Minister of Ukraine Olena zerkal said that Russian border guards do not violate the protocols during the inspection of Ukrainian ships in the Azov sea. The Crimean border guard service reported that inspection of foreign ships is conducted in accordance with international law of the sea, comments and complaints from the shipowners has not been received.

Previously the Council of national security and defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine ordered to increase its military presence in the sea of Azov, and to ensure the units of coastal defense missiles. In turn, the commander of Land forces of VSU the General-the Colonel Sergey Popko announced an increase in army group in the sea of Azov. Thus, according to the Deputy Minister of infrastructure of the country Yuriy Lavrenyuk, in the sea of Azov additionally deployed two armored.
