Residents of Primorye on Sunday in the second round of elections of the head of the region will vote for one of the two candidates: the acting Governor of the region Andrey Tarasenko or candidate from the Communist party Andrei Ishchenko.

President Vladimir Putin in early October 2017 signed a decree about dismissal of the head of Primorsky Krai Vladimir Miklushevsky. 4 October 2017 the acting Governor was appointed Andrei Tarasenko.

In the single voting day on 9 September none of the five candidates for Governor of Primorye was not able to recruit the necessary number of votes — at least 50% + 1 vote. Tarasenko after counting 100% of the ballots received 46,56%, and the Deputy of legislative Assembly of Primorye Ishchenko — 26,63%. The turnout that day exceeded 30%.

On Sunday there will be a second round of voting, which will open more than 1.3 thousand polling stations in all districts of the region, almost all of them are equipped with surveillance cameras. In addition to stationary will also operate temporary sites in several hospitals, the airport, or a military unit. At polling stations in Vladivostok and the Khasan district will establish 145 complexes of processing of ballots.

In the second round the winning candidate gaining the highest number of votes. To vote, residents of the region will be able from 08.00 to 20.00 local time (01.00 to 13.00 GMT). Only in Primorye was 1 million 456 thousand 292 voters.

Ninth of September the winners in the elections of the head region in four regions of Russia: in Primorye, Khabarovsk region, Vladimir region and Khakassia Republic.
