Seventh Elizabethan procession, dedicated to the memory of Holy Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna Romanova and the entire Royal family, began to move from the Church of Elijah the Prophet in the village of Il’inskoe on the «Imperial route» to the village of Usovo, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

According to the organizers, it involved up to three thousand people.

The procession is timed to the 100th anniversary of the execution of the Royal family and representatives of the Imperial Romanov family in Yekaterinburg and Alapayevsk. Among the pilgrims, the clergy and parishioners of the monasteries and temples consecrated in honor of the Holy new Martyr Elizabeth Feodorovna, from different cities of Russia and from the Holy Land. The procession is headed by Metropolitan Krutitsky and Kolomna Juvenaly.

The route, combining ancient village Ilinskoe Usovo and that were formerly single in the suburbs of the Imperial estate, was developed by the Fund of assistance to revival of traditions of mercy and charity «Elisabeth-sergievskoe educational society» (ESPO). The procession is held here in September every year since 2011.

During the prayer rally will be held on the ferry on a pontoon bridge across the Moscow river from Elias in Usovo. Will end the procession with a joint prayer of the venerable Martyr Elizabeth Fyodorovna at the Cathedral of Vernicle in the village of Usovo.

In Ilyinskoye-Usovo Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich (1857-1905), along with his wife Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna (1864-1918), nee Princess of Hesse-Darmstadt, much time was devoted to charity and education. Assistance to the population was in any difficult situations (fires, crop failures, epidemics).
