The EU should in the long term, to turn the Euro into a real world currency in order to increase the efficiency of its foreign policy, said the Vice-President of the European Commission on energy Union Maros Sefcovic at a press conference.

«The fact that almost every energy imports in the EU should be in dollars, and that we are so heavily dependent on American financial system, shows us how this limits our actions in foreign policy… In the long run we need to transform the Euro into a real world currency, so we can import energy in euros and sell, for example, our planes also in Euro, because this will give us much more possibilities to be active and effective foreign policy,» he said.
