The former mayor of Khabarovsk Alexander Sokolov was invited to work in the government of Khabarovsk Krai and has given his consent, and said during the election debates the Governor of the region Vyacheslav Shport.

The results of the voting on September 9 at the elections of the head of Khabarovsk won the Vice-mayor United Russia Sergey Kravchuk, he will be replaced by Sokolov, who was mayor for 18 years and was reelected four times, including in 2013, during large-scale flooding in the Amur. The election for Governor Shport got 35,62% of the votes, or 0.19%, losing to the Deputy of the state Duma from LDPR Sergey Furgal. A second vote is scheduled for September 23.

«We will rebuild the government, will change. I was invited to work in our team Alexander Nikolayevich Sokolov, as he already was re-elected, he’s not the mayor. He agreed to come to work in the government. He has extensive experience. Let’s watch together to work on how to form the right team» — said Shport.

He noted that invites «all healthy forces», which offered its programs to improve the lives of citizens, work in the government.

Shport announced that the results of the first round of elections has taken some measures for the reorganization of the team. So, dismissed the head of the Committee of fisheries, which was unable to organize the work during the fishing season.

Earlier Shport suggested Furgala «to go to work in the government as first Deputy and together work together to implement the promises.» Furgal said that accepting his offer, ready to «roll up our sleeves and do everything to improve the lives of residents of the region». He later told RIA Novosti that he does not refuse the second round, despite the willingness to work together with Shport.
