Banks rehabilitated more than 6.4 thousands of customers objectors

Banks of the Russian Federation independently rehabilitated more than 6.4 thousands of clients who are wrongfully denied opening an account or carrying out the operation, told RIA Novosti in the press service of the Bank of Russia.

Since March this year, the legislation provides a mechanism for the rehabilitation of the good customers of banks that the credit institution has wrongfully refused opening the account or conducting transactions. Customers can complain to the Bank or interdepartmental Commission. The Central Bank noted that in most cases issues are resolved at the level of the banks themselves.

«As of 14 September the credit organization independently rehabilitated more than 6.4 thousands of clients», — reported in the Central Bank.

To the interdepartmental Commission during its work received 155 appeals on questions of rehabilitation. Of them 118 complaints were denied consideration due to the fact that the client first contacted the Bank, 13 were not submitted all the necessary documents.

«Thus, the Commission considered 24 complaints, of which 7 decisions in favour of customers, 9 decisions in favour of credit institutions, one financial institution appeal reviewed the denial of the benefit of the client until a decision by the Commission. Currently pending before the 7 complaints,» said the Bank of Russia.

In November last year, the Central Bank has developed a mechanism for rehabilitation of the clients of the banks, which in the framework of the law «About counteraction to legalization (laundering) of incomes obtained in a criminal way and financing of terrorism» could be permitted in the transaction or account opening.
