The international Monetary Fund (IMF) continues the discussion on the further financing of Kiev, the decision is still pending, and answered question from reporters about the possibility of granting a new loan for Ukraine, the Fund’s representative Jerry rice at the regular briefing in Washington.

«Our staff was in Kiev, discussing with the Ukrainian authorities related to the continuation of our efforts to maintain policies and reforms and macroeconomic stability and growth in Ukraine, as well as possible financial support from the Fund. We have no more specific details about those discussions that are ongoing. We have no specific dates for the adoption of a decision», — he answered a question about a new financing program for Kiev and leaks in the Ukrainian press on the conditions for the new program.

Earlier «Ukrainian news», citing a source reported that Ukraine and the IMF agree on a new financing program, through starting that now Kiev will be able to refinance to avoid a sharp rise in gas prices and default. The IMF mission worked in Kyiv from 6 to 19 September. However, according to sources, the condition for a new Memorandum of cooperation should be the adoption of the state budget for the year 2019.

According to the publication, the IMF requirement of Kiev became a surprise as the Ukrainian government expected to raise the issue of the state budget in negotiations with the IMF in the winter. Thus, according to the newspaper, the IMF is not received from the Ukrainian authorities no warranty as to the adoption of the state budget in connection with a «complete loss of confidence.»

The four-year program of IMF with the use of the extended financing facility (EFF) provides for the allocation of Ukraine 17.5 billion dollars. In March 2015, was transferred the first tranche of $ 5 billion, in August of the same year the second tranche of $ 1.7 billion. In 2016 and 2017 Ukraine has received one tranche of $ 1 billion each. The Ukrainian authorities expect to receive the fifth tranche by the end of 2017, but he is still not highlighted. Now Kyiv expects to receive tranche this year.
