The head of the Ukrainian foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has called the issuance of Hungarian passports to Ukrainian citizens in Transcarpathia «red line» in relations between the two countries. He said this on air of the program «Sedanka z 1+1».

«The consequences will be very simple: we Hungarians will sit down again. Let’s talk about how extended the transition period for the education Act. It is important to them. We are going to talk about how the Hungarian financing activities», — said Klimkin.

According to the Minister of foreign Affairs, at the moment, the Ukraine, in particular, verifies, through what mechanisms Hungary provides assistance to the families of Ukrainian citizens of Hungarian origin living on the territory of Western Ukraine.

«The topic of conversation with the Hungarians we have. But basically, you want to call it a «red line»: they [the Hungarians] will not be handing out citizenship just like that and will not be manipulated by our citizens», — said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Earlier it became known that the Hungarian Consulate in Beregovo, Transcarpathian region issue passports of their country living in the region the Ukrainians. It was reported that the documents were accompanied by recommendations not to notify the authorities of Ukraine. Pavlo Klimkin said that Ukraine intends to send the Consul of Hungary.
