Komarov: new perinatal center of Ugra is ready to provide remote services

Under construction in Surgut (Khanty), the Center of protection of motherhood and childhood is ready to provide remote services in the field of perinatal medicine, in General, the region can train specialists in this field to other subjects of the Federation, said the Governor Natalya Komarova in the framework of the second Eurasian women’s forum in St. Petersburg.

«Our region is one of the leaders in the country at the lowest infant mortality, we excluded maternal mortality. In 2019 the district will begin to operate a new modern clinical centre of protection of motherhood and childhood… We are interested in cooperation and are ready in turn to prepare specialists and to provide remote services, including on the basis of our new center,» she said.

According to Komarova, the perinatal center in Surgut will be the largest in Russia.

As previously reported, the construction of this center began in 2015, the first patients is scheduled for spring 2019. In the fall of 2017, when discussing social policy issues with the Minister of labour and social protection RF Maxim Topilin during his visit to Khanty-Mansiysk, Komarova expressed confidence that the new centre for maternal and child health in the region will carry out the functions of the research Institute, and its appearance in the district will improve the demographic situation.
