The head of the CEC of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova has suggested that the reason for the withdrawal of Victor Zimin with elections in Khakassia could be a realistic assessment of a candidate of their capabilities.

«It will have to ask him. I can imagine that he really appreciates their capabilities, but this is a question for him. It is not for me to comment on that,» she said to RIA Novosti, answering a question why Zimin withdrew his candidacy.

The first round of elections in the Republic of Khakassia was held in a single voting day on 9 September. The candidate from «United Russia» Viktor Zimin scored of 32.42% of the vote, losing to the candidate from the Communist party Valentin Konovalov from 44,81%.
