The court in absentia arrested the Russians Ruslan and Marlena Miyatovich, the military commanders of structural units of the Ukrainian extremist organization «Right sector», who fought in the Donbass, said Friday the official representative of SK of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.

«At the request of the investigation by the court in absentia preventive measure in form of detention in respect of citizens of the Russian Federation of the brothers Ruslan and Marlena Miyatovich. In their actions the consequence sees signs of the crime provided by article of the criminal code «participation in an extremist organization,» — said Petrenko.

According to the investigation, from 2015 to 2017, the brothers Miseralbe actively participated in military operations against the civilian population of the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics, as well as in the public anti-Russian actions «Right sector», which took place in the Kherson region of Ukraine. The action was aimed at the blockade of food supplies, raw materials and other goods to the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol.

Petrenko added that both accused declared in the international search. It is clarified that the work on establishment and bringing to criminal liability of participants of the organization «Right sector» continues.

*Extremist organization banned in Russia.
