The head of Khakassia Victor Zimin has declared that retires.

«The last time I was working under severe pressure. On the Republic and I was brought down a torrent of criticism, we were at the center of a powerful information campaign, the purpose of which was the change of power in Khakassia Republic <…>, I decided. I’m leaving. I’m not to prevent a split in Khakassia. I am convinced that no political ambition should not harm the people of the Republic», — the statement says Zimin to the inhabitants of the region, published on the official portal of the Republican government.

Zimin was the head of Khakassia in 2009.

Elections Of The Republic Of Khakassia

In the single voting day on 9 September in Khakassia Republic have passed elections of the Governor. None of the candidates could gain more than 50 percent of the vote. The leader was the candidate of the Communist party Valentin Konovalov, received 44,81 percent, Zimin took second place with a 32.81 percent.

The second round was appointed on 23 September. Two days before him, on the evening of 21 September Zimin said that withdrawing his candidacy. According to the CEC head Ella Pamfilova, such a decision he came to, realistically assess your chances for victory in the second round.

Due to the failure of Zimin’s elections, the second round was postponed for two weeks, it will be held on 7 October. Now rival Konovalova should become the promoted worker from «Fair Russia» Andrey Filegen that won in the first round in third place with 11.23% of the votes.
