Petrozavodsk city court on Monday sentenced to 5 years conditional imprisonment term eks-the Chairman of the Committee for state property management of the Republic of Karelia Denis Kosarev for receiving 2.6 million rubles bribes, have informed RIA Novosti the representative of the court.

«The court decided to appoint Denis Kosarev a penalty of 5 years imprisonment with a probation term of 5 years and 5 million roubles of the penalty,» — said the Agency interlocutor.

The court also ruled to prohibit Kosarev for 7 years holding positions in state or municipal service.

Until the sentence comes into legal force Kosarev court changed the measure of restraint – house arrest on his own recognizance.

The criminal case was considered in a special manner in the closed mode. The Prosecutor demanded for Kosarev 4 years in prison and a fine of 5 million rubles.

According to investigators, Kosarev, together with the Deputy Sergey Maximov (investigation on the latter is continuing) in 2014-2015 received six bribes totaling not less than 2.6 million rubles.

It is noted that for the money the officials have created the conditions for the victory of commercial companies in the auctions, and then concluded with firms contracts and lease contracts, and coordinated the issuance by the Fund of state property of the Republic of large sums of loans to small businesses.

Kosarev charged under articles «Receiving a bribe, committed by a group of persons upon a preliminary collusion on a large scale» and «embezzlement committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, using his official position». In addition, the former official is charged with the assignment of 40 thousand rubles under the pretext of premium payments.
