The candidate from LDPR Vladimir Sipyagin, with more than 57% of the votes on elections of the head of the Vladimir region, told RIA Novosti that he was sure of his victory.

According to the results of processing 100% of protocols of voting Sipyagin scored 57,03% of the vote, while the incumbent Governor of the region Svetlana Orlova — 37,46%.

«Good, confident of victory, I, as a Governor of the Vladimir region. I knew that this would happen. Now, when in the second round we went — I knew it would happen and so were already forming the team, already in full swing I have identified the initial tasks that need to be addressed after taking office,» said Sipyagin.

On the question of RIA Novosti about whether he is afraid of occurrence of the probability of cancellation of results of elections, Sipiagin responded that «it is the people’s choice, and against the popular choice, as they say, no arguing».

«I want to Express my gratitude and the residents of the Vladimir region, who supported me in the first round, and that made this landslide victory — it’s different to not be called — in the second round. I’m thankful to my countrymen. And besides, I want to thank the leader of the party Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who supported me throughout the election campaign,» added Sipyagin.

In the first round on 9 September with a turnout of 32,96% Orlova has received 36,42% of the votes, Sipiagin — 31,19%. In addition to the gubernatorial election on 9 September, both candidates stood in deputies of regional legislative Assembly. In the end, both received mandates, but Orlov from his immediately refused, and Sipiagin took the mandate and is currently a Deputy from the liberal democratic party.
