The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, commenting on the decision of the constitutional court on its temporary suspension from duties, said that the judges made a «double iniquity».

Earlier on Monday, the constitutional court of Moldova suspended the powers of the President because of his refusal to appoint two Ministers. As the acting speaker of Parliament or Prime Minister will issue a decree on the appointment of members of the government and will take their oaths of office.

«Its decision to suspend from office the President of the Republic of Moldova, the legitimately elected by direct vote of the citizens, the constitutional court made a double iniquity: negated my attempt to stop a serious violation of the law and let this violation was committed by the so-called acting President,» — wrote he on his page in Facebook.

According to him, the COP completely ignored the arguments of the President which he cited in support of his decision to refuse to appoint Ministers.

He explained that Silvia Radu nominated to the post of Minister of health, labor and social protection does not have the necessary education and experience in this area. In relation to Nicholas Shank, invited for the post of Minister of agriculture and regional development, the President appeared «doubt the integrity».

«Sorry about that instead of trying to stop the serious violations committed by the government, the constitutional court gives «green light» they continue. This once again raises serious questions about the professionalism and independence of constitutional court judges», — said Igor Dodon.

He noted that «the authorities» are not fully aware of the seriousness of his actions and their consequences, but «they will have to answer for these violations».

Earlier, Prime Minister Pavel Filip has invited President Dodon the appointment of two new Ministers. Minister of health, labour and social protection was planned to appoint Sylvia Rada, the Minister of agriculture and regional development — Nicholas Shank. In this he opposed those candidates.

Dodon three were suspended from duties and two times it was due to the refusal to approve the nominations of Ministers — in October 2017 and January 2018, when he twice rejected the candidates proposed by the government under the leadership of Philip. Decrees appointing new Ministers were signed by the speaker of Parliament Andrian CANDU.

The opposition Moldovan President with the parliamentary majority and the government continues for more than one year. The main subject of controversy remains the country’s foreign policy: the President insists on rapprochement with Russia, while the parliamentary majority and appointed by the government leaning towards the West. Dodon is blocking initiative of Pro-European authorities, and the President’s proposals do not find support among the deputies.
