Roskomnadzor protects the copyright of the domestic film «Gogol. A terrible revenge» by sending notice 167 Internet resources about the need to remove pirated copies, according to the Agency.

After the notification service 148 of the resources themselves withdrawn from public access illegally distributed copies of the film, is expected to delete with the pages», — stated in the message.

Specifies that 14 sites whose owners didn’t take the appropriate measures in a timely manner, have restricted access.

As noted by Roskomnadzor, norms and requirements on protection of intellectual property rights allow the copyright owner out of court to contact the offending website with the requirement to stop infringement of copyright and (or) related rights. In case of failure, the right holder may file in the court a Declaration of acceptance of preliminary injunction, i.e., to restrict access to the pirate site.

On Monday, Roskomnadzor reported that January-August 2018 received more than 1.2 thousand definitions of the Moscow city court on the protection of copyright on the Internet. It was noted in 90% of cases, the site owners themselves have limited access to infringing content, without waiting for the lock. Thus, according to the service, for eight months, the operators have restricted access to 3 thousand sites, whose owners have not taken appropriate action within established deadlines.

Launched in Russia and the CIS on August 30, the film «Gogol. A terrible revenge» was the conclusion of the trilogy, inspired by the works and biography of Nikolai Gogol. The basis for the third film became the story «a Terrible vengeance» from the collection «Evenings on a farm near Dikanka», but the beginning of the trailer refers to the events of XVII century, the time of confrontation between the Cossacks and the poles.
