The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon said that he expects Wednesday to discuss with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak settlement of the situation in the unrecognized Transnistria.

«I wish we discussed these issues and others that concern our bilateral relations Transnistria. You know there was a meeting with the leaders, and I also met recently. This range of questions, I hope that today we will be discussing,» said Dodon in a meeting with Kozak.

Kozak was appointed this year as special representative of the President of the Russian Federation on trade and economic relations with Moldova.

Transnistria, 60% of inhabitants are Russians and Ukrainians sought to secede from Moldova even before the collapse of the USSR, fearing that on the wave of nationalism Moldova will join Romania. In 1992, after a failed attempt of the authorities of Moldova force to solve the problem, Transnistria has become virtually beyond the control of Chisinau’s territory.
