Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky theatre from 27 to 29 September, will perform on one of the most important music venues of the Arabian Peninsula to the Royal Opera house of Muscat in Oman with a performance of «Prince Igor», reported the press service of the theatre.

«Mariinsky theatre» will be presented at the Oman Opera by Alexander Borodin «Prince Igor». Performances will take place on 27 and 29 September at the Royal Opera house Muscat. The audience will get acquainted with two compounds of soloists involved in the play (directed by Yevgeny Sokovnin). Starring Evgeny Nikitin and Roman Burdenko (Igor Svyatoslavich), Tatiana Pavlovskaya and Anna Makarova (Yaroslavna).

Also on 28 September will take place the concert of Symphonic orchestra and Choir of the Mariinsky theatre under Valery Gergiev. The evening will be dedicated to Igor Stravinsky and Sergei Prokofiev, whose anniversary the theatre was widely celebrated in 2016-2017. In the program: «Fireworks», Symphony in C, and Suite from the ballet «the Firebird» by Stravinsky, and a cantata «Alexander Nevsky» by Prokofiev (soloist Anna Kiknadze).

In performances at the Royal Opera of Muscat, an exhibition on the history of the Mariinsky theatre since the founding to the present day. For this exposition Mariinka provided costumes, items, props, repertory books, posters, documents and other artifacts from the archival funds, as well as photo and video materials about the theatre and its affiliates.
