The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he had not heard about the suspension of any agreements in the sphere of military-technical cooperation (MTC) between Russia and India.

«In the case of other commercial contracts under negotiation, I have not heard anything about the timing or whether to delay, to freeze something,» said Lavrov, answering the question whether information about the possible freezing of agreements between countries in the sphere of military-technical cooperation.

Previously, the newspaper «Vedomosti», citing its sources reported that payments from India for most arms contracts with Russia are not received from April 2018. As the paper explains, this is due to the imposed us law CAATSA sanctions against «Rosoboronexport», which threaten the so-called secondary sanctions of its counterparties.

Earlier in the press service of the Federal service for military-technical cooperation, RIA Novosti news Agency confirmed the existing problems, but noted that Russia and India intend to resolve the issues and are looking for ways for this solution.

In late March the Deputy Director of the Russian Federal service for military-technical cooperation Vladimir Drozdov said that Russia hopes to sign a contract for the supply of the latest Russian anti-aircraft missile systems s-400 to India in 2018. In case of signing of the contract, India could become the third foreign buyer of these new systems after China and Turkey.
