The agreement to establish the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya, signed Wednesday, provides for exchange of territories with an area of 1890 hectares on both sides, said the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.

The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and Ramzan Kadyrov on Wednesday signed an agreement defining the borders between regions, which provides for an equivalent exchange of territories.

«The Chechen side gave us 1890 hectares, and we, on our side the same thing, exactly a meter in the meter, the lost 1890 hectares. In the end, we lined the border, the wedge that was there. Then we went along the current border line that was taken before us, in the 1990-ies, when the Chechen-Ingushetia collapsed, and we made the decision to remain part of the Russian Federation», — said Yevkurov at the enlarged meeting of the government of the region, the video of which is posted on the channel website of the President on YouTube.

He also said that the agreement on the border will be implemented and fixed in the near future. «We found the strength and I, and Ramzan (Kadyrov), just to close this topic. Nobody was forced to do it, we just sat down and came to the opinion, or it’s close, or tomorrow will make of our fraternal peoples eternal blood feuds. We decided not to bring this up,» — said Yevkurov.

«Those who want peace and tranquility of the Republic, of good neighborliness, the brotherly relations, will support this decision and should trust us,» he added.

According to Yevkurov, at the border will also be removed all the posts. «Our post, which arstakh is, we remove, there is no need in Aki-Yurt post is also remove that, we will have posts only on the Federal highway», — said the head of Ingushetia.

The question of the definition of the administrative border line between Chechnya and Ingushetia occurred in the early 1990-ies, when the two republics were part of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR was divided after the coming to power of Dudayev. In 1993, the head of Chechnya, Ingushetia, and Dzhokhar Dudaev and Ruslan Aushev signed an agreement under which the Sunzha district, with the exception of the settlements of Sernovodsk and Assinovskaya, went to Ingushetia.

Kadyrov in September 2012 created a Commission for «clarification and harmonization of administrative border» between the two republics. In early September he signed a decree creating a state Commission to clarify the administrative border of Chechnya and settlement of contentious issues in its establishment.
