Parliamentary elections will be held on Sunday in Iraqi Kurdistan for the first time after defeating IG group* hold a referendum on independence autonomy from Baghdad.

Elections to the legislative Assembly of the Kurdish Autonomous region was to be held in November of last year, but was postponed because of the acute political crisis caused by a severe reaction on Baghdad conducted in the region a referendum on independence.

This is the fifth parliamentary elections in the history of Iraqi Kurdistan. The first took place in 1992.

For Deputy mandates in legislative Assembly also claimed the opposition party «Goran» («Change») party and the Islamic group.

During the day of voting, according to the statement, the Ministry of internal Affairs of the autonomy, communication between provincial autonomy and provinces of Iraq will be suspended.

It is noteworthy that elections to the Parliament of Iraqi Kurdistan will be held the day before the vote in the house of representatives (Iraqi Parliament) on the nomination of the President of the country. In this post, according to the legislation of the country, is solely the representative of the Kurdish community, expect seven people. The main candidates are the representatives of the KDP and the PUK.

DPK on parliamentary voting has nominated Fouad Hussein, who previously held the position of head of the office of the former head of Iraqi Kurdistan Massoud Barzani. Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) — nominated for the presidency the former head of government autonomy Barham Saleh.
