Canada and the United States managed to reach agreement on North American free trade area (NAFTA), according to canadian channel CTV News citing a senior American source.

According to the channel, despite the fact that a deal is reached, it must still be finally approved.

There is to be a joint statement of the foreign Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland and US trade representative Robert Lighthizer, adds the channel.

USA, Mexico and Canada at the urging of the American President Donald trump are in talks on updating the free trade zone NAFTA. Trump has also stated that they would prefer separate trade agreements with Mexico and Ottawa, which almost certainly would put an end to NAFTA.
