In Minsk on 15 October by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church

The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, chaired by Patriarch Kirill will be held in Minsk on 15 October, confirmed Tuesday RIA Novosti at the Patriarchal press service.

The visit of Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill to Minsk will be held from 13 to 15 October.

«October 15 will be held in Minsk meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church,» — said the press service of the Primate.

During the visit, the Patriarch will make divine service in the Cathedral of Minsk and headed the consecration of the temple-monument in honor of all saints the feast day of the Holy virgin (October 14).

According to the Statute of the ROC, the highest bodies of Church authority and governance are the local Council, the Council of bishops and the Holy Synod. The Synod governs the Church between bishops ‘ councils, the meetings shall be convened by the Patriarch (or the Locum Tenens) several times a year. In the period between the councils, it was the Synod takes major decisions concerning the Church and social life.
