In Russia began work on fundamental work on the history of Sevastopol, told reporters on Tuesday the head of the foreign intelligence Service, Chairman of the Russian historical society Sergei Naryshkin.

«The fundamental work, which is dedicated to the history of Sevastopol began,» Naryshkin said at the presentation of the two-volume «History of Crimea».

Speaking of the two volumes, he noted that he had worked a large team of employees that represent scientific centers of Russia, including Crimean historians. «The first presentation of the two volumes took place in the fourth anniversary of the reunification of the Crimea with Russia in March this year. The basis of the «History of Crimea» went to the historical documents of nearly three dozen archives, both Russian and foreign. The leading archives of the Russian Federation, you know, I will name a few from foreign archives, with whom the research team worked. This Central archive of Supreme bodies of power and administration of Ukraine, the Federal military archive of Germany, the bakhmetevsky bus archive Library, Columbia University, USA and the archive of the Hoover institution on war, revolution and peace at Stanford University,» — said Naryshkin.

According to him, in this edition we have covered a very large period of the history of Crimea – from the early prehistory until the final reunification of the Crimea with Russia in March 2014. Naryshkin added that as thoroughly as possible authors of this work has approached the analysis of the legal nature of the transfer of the Crimean Peninsula to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
