More than 200 thousand offers from 133 countries were made during the pre-sales of the cryptocurrency Venezuelan «Petro», according to data released Tuesday by the Twitter of the press service of the President of Venezuela.

Earlier on Monday, President Nicolas Maduro said that the country launched a national blockchain «Petro». This will be based on the development plan «Petro» for 10 years.

It is noteworthy that in late February, shortly after the release of «Petro», Maduro himself called another number of offers with the intention to buy «Peter» — about 292 thousand. Then the interest in the new Venezuelan currency showed countries such as Colombia, Brazil, Japan, China, Palestine, Spain, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

«Petro» was released into circulation on the 20th of February, is the first cryptocurrency provided by oil. Thus, Venezuela became the first country with its own cryptocurrency, which is supported by the oil reserves. Maduro identified the cost of one «Peter» in the price of a barrel of Venezuelan oil, or $ 60 (3.6 thousand new sovereign bolivars).
