More than 80% of Russians read a lot of fiction, the survey showed

More than 80% of Russians read a lot of fiction, while 56% prefer paper books, and 27% — electronic, follows from the results of a survey the Russian center for public opinion studies (VTSIOM) at the disposal of RIA Novosti.

Professional, scientific, informative literature to read 75%: 33% prefer to do it with paper and 42% from electronic.

The survey also shows that young people aged 18 to 24 years of age preferably electronic format — it was selected 60% of the members of this group. Paper books are often chosen by older people — 40% of respondents over the age of 60.

News and news articles respondents read mainly in electronic format — this option was chosen by 67% of Russians. Another 21% read them in the paper, and 10% practically does not read the news.

The initiative Russian opinion «polls-Sputnik» was held on 8 September by telephone interviews among 1.6 thousand of Russians over the age of 18. The maximum error with 95% probability does not exceed 2.5%.
