Russia five to seven years has the potential to achieve a technological and environmental breakthrough in the issues of separate waste collection and processing, said RIA Novosti Deputy Minister of construction and housing and public utilities of Russia Andrei Chibis.

«The theme of waste, recycling and the introduction of modern technology has huge prospects and great potential. Today the topic of waste is perceived as toxic, but our country has all the chances in the next five to seven years to make in this area of technological and environmental breakthrough,» said Chibis.

The Deputy Minister reminded that next year in every region of the Russian Federation will earn a new system for total waste management and regional operators, which regional authorities may specify their own standards for separate waste collection.

According to him, in 2019-2020 such standards have already volunteered to implement the 15 regions of the Russian Federation. Is the Moscow region, Mordovia, Astrakhan, Kaluga, Bryansk, Yaroslavl, Novgorod, Smolensk, Amur, Murmansk region, Krasnodar, Kamchatka Krai, Tatarstan, Mari El, Karelia and Chechnya.

«The theme of separate waste collection is the right priority. We need to stimulate the economy. And people and entrepreneurs who are engaged in it. This made the decision to reduce rates for homes that separately collect garbage.
