The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has signed previously approved by the Republican Parliament of the law establishing the border with Ingushetia, told RIA Novosti on Friday the head of administration and government of the Republic.

Kadyrov and the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, on 26 September signed an agreement on the definition of the boundary between their regions, which provides for an equivalent exchange of territories. According to the Constitution, the boundaries between the regions may be changed upon their mutual consent, and such changes must be approved by the Federation Council. On Thursday, the parliaments of Chechnya and Ingushetia approved the agreement on the border between the republics.

«The head of Chechnya signed the law on the border between the Republic of Ingushetia and the Chechen Republic. It will enter into force 10 days after official publication,» — said in the administration.

Earlier, Kadyrov expressed the view that «legal registration of the border will become the new serious step towards strengthening of friendship and unity of the Vainakh people.»

«I once again declare with all responsibility that the line of demarcation drawn between the republics, and not the Chechen and Ingush peoples», — he wrote Thursday in his account in the Telegram, expressing confidence that «nothing will ever divide the Chechen and Ingush peoples.»
