Belarus is considering the pardon of a Ukrainian citizen Pavel Sharoika, accused of espionage, said Friday the head of the KGB of the Republic Valery Vakulchik.

«Deals with the question of pardon Sharoika», — Vakulchyk said to reporters, noting that the Commission on pardons.

At the end of last year, the KGB of Belarus reported about the detention of Sharoika and charged with espionage and the creation in Belarus of a secret network. In December 2017 Vakulchik reported that the criminal case against Sharoika is at the final stage, as «the time of his arrest had already been collected comprehensive evidence base.» The Supreme court of Belarus on 12 February announced a review in the closed mode criminal case, other information on the whole process were not voiced. In the spring of 2018 Sharoika was sentenced to eight years in prison.
