Study: two thirds of Russians are happy long new year holidays

Almost two-thirds of Russians approve of the long new year holidays, nearly one in five already planned out the budget for the New year celebration and the subsequent week of rest, it follows from a survey conducted by Superjob and at the disposal of RIA Novosti.

According to the decree of the government, in the coming new year holidays Russians will have a rest 10 days — from December 30, 2018 January 8, 2019, extended stay waiting for the Russians during the may holidays — from 1 to 5 and from 9 to 12 may.

The survey showed that 66% of Russians are glad the ten-day new year holidays, 14% in favor of reducing the number of output, 13% are neutral to a series of festive days, 7% were undecided. It is noted that the younger the respondents, the more of them supporters of the Christmas holidays: 77% of respondents under 24 years of age and 56% among those between 45 years.

According to the study, the budget for the celebration of the New year and subsequent holidays have been planned out by 19% of Russians. The number of young people slightly more respondents identified costs: 22% of respondents under 24 years of age and 15% of Russians older than 45 years. The amount that the average Russian, decided on a budget, willing to spend for the holidays, without counting the gifts is 17 thousand rubles per person.

The survey was conducted on 3 and 4 October. The study involved 1.6 thousand respondents over 18 years of the 319 settlements of the Russian Federation.
