Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova confirmed that a convict in Russia for organizing terrorist attacks Oleg Sentsov stopped the hunger strike; she believes that this is due to his critical condition.

Earlier, on the termination of hunger strike, RIA Novosti reported the head of the HRC Mikhail Fedotov. The hunger strike Sentsov was announced in may, and it lasted more than 140 days. All this time his condition was monitored by doctors. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ombudsman has requested in the Russian Federation information about the condition of Sentsov, official.

«Oleg Sentsov stopped the hunger strike. This means that he’s in critical condition, almost outside… I demand that he was given the best independent medical experts who will spend his full medical examination. I want to see the report on the state of health Oleg Sentsov. In addition, that professional nutritionists need to develop a scheme out of starvation. These doctors we can bring from Ukraine or Europe,» wrote Denisov on Facebook.

She also demanded to give her the opportunity to visit Sentsov in the colony.

«I need to personally ensure that his life is not in danger. If it is necessary, though I now go to the colony in Labytnangi,» wrote the Ombudsman.

Sentsov was sentenced by the court to 20 years on charges of organizing terrorist acts in the Crimea. He was arrested by the FSB of the Russian Federation among the members of the subversive group «Right sector» (the extremist movement banned in Russia), which prepared terrorist acts in Yalta, Simferopol and Sevastopol. In mid-may Sentsov went on a hunger strike, after which is constantly under the supervision of medical staff.
