Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted an invitation to visit South Korea, the visit is scheduled in 2019, said the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

«Vladimir Putin has accepted the invitation of the President of the Republic of Korea, and next year he plans to visit», — said Matvienko reporters after his visit to Seoul.

Speaker of the Federation Council in South Korea, met with President mun Jae-Otherwise, parliamentarians and representatives of big business. It noted that the foreign Ministry begins preparations for the visit of Putin and arranging his visit.

«As soon as the visit will be prepared and agreed upon time, next year, most likely, such a visit will take place», — said Matvienko.

She also said that the travel schedule of the Russian President before the end of 2018 is saturated, therefore it is not possible to travel to Seoul early next year.

Matvienko also recalled that before the end of the year may be a visit to Russia by DPRK leader Kim Jong-UN.

In September, the speaker of the Federation Council gave the North Korean leader the message from Putin, which outlined Russia’s position on Korean resolution, and confirmed the invitation to visit Russia at a convenient time. Then the assistant to the President Yuri Ushakov said that the visit of Kim Jong-UN is not yet worked out.
