The Union of winegrowers and winemakers of Russia (SVVR) expects consumption growth of wine production in Russia in 2030 to 250 million decaliters, according to the materials SVVR.

The Association, which was presented on Saturday the SVVR President Leonid Popovich, the consumption of Russian wine production in 2018 could reach 84 million decaliters, imported 33 million gallons.

Another aim sought by the Union — to achieve the area of vineyards in Russia in the amount of 350 thousand hectares. «Where does this figure? It is very simple: there was a time when in Russia was 200 thousand hectares of vineyards in Crimea and 150 thousand hectares. We need to restore those areas that have been, and continue to move forward,» said Popovich in his speech.

«The main goal is to ensure that everyone understood: Russia is a wine-growing power, a leading manufacturer. Today we consumption in absolute terms are in fifth place in the world among all countries. The task is to be on the fifth place in production,» he said.

Among other objectives the development of the sector by 2030 — reaching the scope of vintage to 3 million tons, production up to 210 million gallons of wine. In addition, the Union hoped to create in the country to 2 million wine farms, including industrial farms. The Union also hopes to provide, by 2030, a visit to Russia to 2 million wine tourists a year.
