The agreement on the border, triggering a wave of protests, Ingushetia has corrected the error in 2009, when improperly attached to the ancestral lands of the Chechens, told reporters the head of the Republic Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.

Yevkurov and the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov on September 26 signed an agreement on the definition of the boundary between their regions, which provides for an equivalent exchange of territories. On Thursday, the parliaments of Chechnya and Ingushetia approved the agreement on the border between the republics. In this case the constitutional court of Ingushetia said that the agreement can be approved only by a referendum. The country began protests, about two thousand people gathered at place de La Concorde in Magas. The discontent of the protesters was largely due to the fact that Chechnya is in agreement departed about 17 thousand hectares, which the Ingush believed her.

Earlier in the administration of the head of Ingushetia has explained that during the execution of the new Federal law on local self-government of the Republic had to make its own laws that establish the boundaries of municipalities. They were adopted in 2009.

«…The Chechen side took before the law… Our Commission when it took everything, they took the Chechen law, saw that this area was left in limbo, and just took the territory included in the Republic of Ingushetia… you never know that the Chechen side has not considered it… We took someone else’s territory without permission… And all who do not know, said: «We have given the territory.» We gave nothing. It was not our territory… We recognize that it’s our fault. And we legally set the boundary established in the 1990-ies the border», — told reporters Yevkurov.

Concerning the conclusion of the constitutional court of the Republic, which refers to the need for a referendum on border agreement, Yevkurov referred to the opinion of the legal service of the administration, which considers that to hold a popular vote on this issue is not necessary.
