MOSCOW, 8 Feb — RIA Novosti. The ban for the retailers to return products to suppliers could cause a shortage in the weekend. It is reported by «Izvestia» with reference to the head of the Presidium of the retail companies Association (ACORT) Sergey Belyakov.

In January of this year, 30 deputies headed by Irina Yarovaya has drafted a bill under which retailers are prohibited to enter into contracts in which there is a provision on return of goods not sold by the expiration date. MPs motivated the ban by the increase in the number of returns. In the segment of bakery products this indicator reached 50% of the total supply in the segment of meat products – 30%.

In August and September, the Federal trade network has sent feedback on the document in the state Duma and the government, which outlined the possible consequences of the introduction of the MPs standards prohibit return of products to suppliers.

As explained Belyakov, retailers expressed concern that such a move creates the risk of «inability to purchase products in individual hours of work of trade enterprises, especially at weekends». The fact that on Friday, the suppliers deliver the products directly for three days. Deprived of the possibility to return the product, the network will reduce the order, and jump in the demand most of the products can be sold on Friday or Saturday.
