Rospotrebnadzor experts have warned of the possibility of mushroom poisoning in season and prepared recommendations on how to collect and buy mushrooms, not to get sick, reported on the Agency’s website.

«According to Rospotrebnadzor, in the autumn, in the mushroom season, there are more cases of mushroom poisoning among children. This usually happens during walking, due to the negligence and carelessness of adults kids, pulling in mouth raw mushroom. But in the mushroom season grass is not only children but also adults. To avoid unpleasant consequences, it is important to take precautions,» — said in the message.

According to the report, in Russia annually is registered about a thousand victims of mushroom poisoning, about 30 of cases result in deaths. The hardest poisoning carry people with poor health and children.

The Ministry said that mushrooms are indigestible product, they have a lot of fungal cellulose — chitin, which not only digest, but also difficult to access-digestible substances the digestive juices. Therefore, the mushroom dishes are recommended for healthy people, not suffering from diseases of the digestive tract.

Also, experts reminded that collecting mushrooms is better in a wicker basket, so they will be fresh longer, and only far away from roads and highways, ecologically clean areas.

Unknown types of mushrooms it is better to skip. All cut with the stalk of the mushroom you need to go through the same day, sort by type and again thoroughly revised to throw out all worm-eaten, over-Mature, lamellar, mushrooms without legs, flaccid, inedible and poisonous, if they still mistakenly collected. Cook the mushrooms better on the day of collection, each species must be treated separately.

«Remember, you can’t buy dried, salted, marinated and canned mushrooms at random parties and in places of unauthorized trade. If you are buying mushrooms collected in shops and supermarkets, carefully consider the packaging of the mushrooms, they should not be rotten or spoiled,» added the Agency.
