Representatives of the organizing Committee of the ongoing rally in Magas sent to the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov statement, which requires him to withdraw the signature under the agreement on border with the Chechen Republic.

Earlier, the head of Ingushetia said that the agreement on the border, triggering a wave of protests in Magas corrected the error in 2009 when I was wrongfully attached the ancestral lands of the Chechens. In the administration of the head of Ingushetia has explained that during the execution of the new Federal law on local self-government of the Republic had to make its own laws that establish the boundaries of municipalities. They were adopted in 2009. Concerning the conclusion of the constitutional court of the Republic, which speak of the necessity of holding a referendum, Yevkurov referred to the opinion of the legal service of the administration, which considers that to hold a popular vote on this issue is not necessary. The head of Ingushetia has urged to think soberly and not to succumb to provocations.

Yevkurov and the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, on 26 September signed an agreement defining the borders between regions, which provides for an equivalent exchange of territories. The parliaments of Chechnya and Ingushetia approved the border agreement. In this case the constitutional court of Ingushetia said that the agreement can be approved only by a referendum. The country began protests, including at place de La Concorde in Magas.

On Saturday the authorities of Ingushetia on Monday sanctioned the rally held near the building of the national broadcasting company in Magas. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin is closely watching the situation in Ingushetia and receives information from the leadership of the Republic.

On Monday, the Russian presidential envoy in skfo Alexander Matovnikov and the head of Department on internal policy of presidential administration of Russia Andrey Yarin discussed with representatives of the public of Ingushetia, the stabilization of public-political situation in the region. About the decisions taken at the meeting, the Embassy said.
