The leader of the armed group that seized in 2016, the building of the patrol service of police in Yerevan, Varuzhan Avetisyan, reported the death of one of its most active members Araik Chandana.

«About an hour ago died Araik Handaan,» Avetisyan wrote on his page on the social network Facebook. Other details he had not.

Khandaan was released by the court in mid-August 2018 under the guarantee of deputies of the parliamentary faction of «prosperous Armenia».

A group of armed men on 17 July 2016 has entered the territory of the PPS regiment of the police of Armenia and under the threat of violence kept the people there. They demanded the resignation who was then President Serzh Sargsyan and the release of the detained leader of the radical opposition organization «Founding Parliament» Zhirayr Sefilyan, who is accused of illegal acquisition and possession of weapons.

During the capture of the regiment PPP and the subsequent events affected 46 people, including 26 police officers. Three police officers were killed, ten at different times was held by the group in seven gunshot wounds of varying severity. Seven of the victims — medics.
