The government proposes to allocate approximately an additional 8.5 billion rubles to the state program of socio-economic development of the Far East and the Baikal region.

«We continue to support the northeast region. In the Federal budget this year for development activities of the far Eastern district has reserved additional funds. Most of them — 21 billion — have been distributed, the remaining of almost 8.5 billion rubles are to be allocated to state program of socio-economic development of the Far East and the Baikal region», — said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a government meeting.

According to him, the money will go including on the implementation of investment projects with participation of development Fund of the Far East and the Baikal region.

«We are also increasing the grant Agency of the Far East to attract investment,» he added.

In addition, the government has allocated from the reserve Fund of the Cabinet of about 2.5 billion rubles for procurement and commodity interventions on agricultural markets. «This money will allow including insurance reserves, creation of proper conditions for the storage of grain in the intervention Fund,» — said Medvedev.
