«We want to do everything as quickly as possible, so as not to postpone it for a long time, because Tomos must be passed at the Synodal meeting in the second half of November. A little more than a month. And this month, we here, in Ukraine, have to do our homework in order to come to the Patriarchate of Constantinople made us objectives and to this document as the certificate of maturity of our pan-Orthodox», — quotes the press-Secretary of the website of the Television news service channel «1+1».

The Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople has previously stated that it has started the granting of autocephaly churches in Ukraine. It also adopted a decision on the removal of the anathema with the heads of the two non-canonical Church structures in Ukraine — a self-proclaimed «Patriarch» Filaret Denisenko, anathematized by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1997, and Macarius of Maletich (Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church). Constantinople also declared their rights to Ukraine and annulled the obligation of historical writing in 1686, which gave the right of Moscow Patriarch to appoint Metropolitan of Kiev.

  • Should immediately sever all contacts with the Ecumenical Patriarchate
  • We need to wait for the final solution of the issue of autocephaly
  • ROC should attempt to resolve the dispute by diplomatic means
  • Do not follow the situation
