The decision of the Patriarchate of Constantinople to grant autocephaly to the Church in Ukraine is irrational and inspired by the Americans and Europeans, said to RIA Novosti, the Primate of the Abkhaz Orthodox Church priest Vissarion Apliaa.

«The Orthodox Church is one, and the rules existing in the Orthodox world, is. The one who ordained these apostates, who gave them the anathema (that is, of the Russian Orthodox Church — ed.) they have the right to decide whether to forgive them or not. And in order to forgive, we need repentance. Penitential letter no. How could remove his accursed Bartholomew, who is no relation to him has not? This is invading the canonical territory of the ROC. There is gross violation of the canonical and Apostolic decrees. Constantinople took over this foolish approach to the Orthodox solution,» — said RIA Novosti father Vissarion.

In his opinion, the decision of Patriarch Bartholomew are the secular authorities of Ukraine, as well as supporting the US and the EU.

«Constantinople was once again shown as the first Rome fell into disgrace and the seizure of foreign territories and the Byzantine Empire fell. What makes Bartholomew is the support of the Americans the aggressor support to European dissenters-Protestants. They need to Slavs were not together», — said the Primate of the Abkhazian Orthodox Church.

The head of the Abkhazian Church believes that issues related to Church and religion must be resolved by those who have Canon law. «Bartholomew is involved, where that is bad, he collects these apostates to the Orthodox Church. It was in history. But no canonical rights, he is present. He makes this disgusting. If there is any question in the Church situation, this should solve the canonical people who are in the UOC. After all, Russia is not Ukraine denies the autonomy», — he reminded.

The Patriarchate of Constantinople decided to proceed with the granting of autocephaly churches in Ukraine, and to immediately restore the stavropegic (office, directly subordinate to the Patriarch of Constantinople) in Kiev. Constantinople also decided to cancel the anathema and all prohibitions imposed by the Orthodox Church at the head of the self-proclaimed «Kiev Patriarchate» Filaret, and restore it, and also the leader of another non — canonical structure-the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC) Macarius and their followers in the Church rights and dignity. And their flock — «to restore to communion with the Church.» Thus, Constantinople was first recognized as legitimate schismatic Church structures in Ukraine. In addition, the Patriarchate of Constantinople has actually said about their rights in Ukraine, withdrawing legal obligations historical writing in 1686 on the transfer to the Moscow Patriarch the right to appoint the Metropolitan of Kiev, who was elected Cathedral of his diocese.

ROC called the decision of the Synod the legalization of the secession and stated that they will cause catastrophic damage, touching the lives of millions of people not only in Ukraine but throughout the Orthodox world. Communication with Constantinople schismatics destroys the canonical Orthodoxy, the absurdity of the lifting of the anathema with Filaret obvious, said press Secretary of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill.

UOC, in turn, did not rule out a break communion with Constantinople and the imposition of an anathema on the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew, noting that he believes the decision of Constantinople for the Ukrainian non-canonical churches, deeply hostile act and interference in the Affairs of the local Church.

The Abkhazian Orthodox Church

Control of the region and the faithful of the Georgian Orthodox Church lost as a result of the Georgian-Abkhazian war of 1992-1993. Then the majority of the Georgian clergy for political reasons was forced to leave the territory of Abkhazia. The spiritual life of the region began to recover a small group of local parish priests. They made the diocesan Council and elected temporary administrator of the Sukhum-Abkhaz diocese priest Vissarion Apliaa. Then, with the support of the Russian Church a few Abkhazians had received a religious education and was ordained a priest.

In 2009, Vissarion Apliaa has registered a new ecclesiastical structure — the Abkhazian Orthodox Church with unresolved self-proclaimed Autonomous status. Shortly before that he asked Moscow, Georgian and other Orthodox patriarchs to restore the Abkhazian Orthodox Church that ceased to exist in 1795. Despite the fact that the primates refused the request of the Abkhazian Orthodox Church was officially registered.
