Director Alexey Krasovsky, known from the movie «the Collector», I decided to remove the black Comedy «the Holiday» about the siege of Leningrad, the collection of funds for the painting were announced on crowdfunding platform Planeta.ru.

In the description of the story says that 31 December in the siege of Leningrad in the house of the resurrection living «special situation» going «six people and a chicken, which no one to cook,» as the cook and them «was taken away because of hard times.»

The situation is aggravated by the fact that the youngest son of the resurrection brought a hungry girl, and the eldest daughter — a stranger for whom going to marry. «Before the New year remained a matter of minutes, and the number of problems is growing snowball», — stated in the description.

He Krasovskii, commenting on the project, calls it «black spots, but more light and Christmas Comedy». However, he explained that he decided to crowd funding after refusal by «big studios» because the producers did not want to risk because of the combination of the themes of the blockade and «satire».

According to the Director, filming is scheduled to begin in the fall and finish in winter.

In the film, as follows from the description of the project, agreed to appear Jan Tsapnik, known for her role in the film «Gogol. Wii», and the son of Oleg Tabakov, Pavel Tabakov and honored artist of Russia Alena Babenko.

To date the fundraiser completed, while the planned amount of 1.5 million rubles was able to attract only 127 thousand.

Alexey Krasovsky debuted as a Director in 2011 with the series «Revelations». In 2016, he released his first feature film — «the Collector» with Konstantin Khabensky in the title role.

The siege of Leningrad started on 8 September 1941 and lasted nearly 900 days. The only way ─ «Way of life», which was delivered to the city food was laid on the ice of lake Ladoga. The blockade was broken January 18, 1943, however, until its complete withdrawal ─ 27 January 1944 ─ Leningrad had to wait another whole year. During the years of blockade were killed, according to various data, from 400 thousand to 1.5 million people. So, at the Nuremberg trials featured the number 632 thousand people. Only 3% of them died from the bombing and shelling, the rest died of hunger.
