The presidents of Russia and Egypt Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi during talks in Sochi have agreed to restore flights between the two countries in full.

The Russian leader has reminded that in April resumed regular flights from Moscow to Cairo and stressed that the Egyptian side is doing everything necessary to ensure security in the airline industry.

«We will strive to ensure that in the near future to resume Charter flights», — said Putin.

Tourism will recover quickly

The Association of tour operators of Russia (ATOR) said that after the resumption of Charter flights to Egypt, the Russian tour operators will take two to four weeks to restore the full volume of tourist traffic.

«Whether these volumes are comparable with 2014, it is difficult to say, as now the Russians have a different purchasing power. However, if the Egyptian side will offer a level of prices comparable with what was earlier, the volume will be restored quickly enough», — told RIA Novosti Executive Director ATOR Maya Lomidze.

The Charter is relevant on the eve of winter

Adviser on transport the head of the Federal tourism Agency Dmitry Gorin told RIA Novosti that the technical obstacles to rapid recovery of the tourist flow will not occur. According to him, the airlines has sufficient aircraft and tour operators have existing contracts with hotels and Egyptian colleagues.

He stressed that full restoration of Charter flights would be especially important on the eve of the winter season.

«Egypt — available budget for the Russians tourist destination with convenient flight. Especially the full opening of flights between our countries would be important on the eve of the winter season, as beach Egypt has no competition among our countrymen at this time of the year», — said Gorin.

Why have you stopped the flights

Flights between the countries was interrupted in the fall of 2015 after the collapse of the Sinai airline «Kogalymavia». The airliner was flying from Sharm El Sheikh to Petersburg. On its Board there were 217 passengers and seven crew members. They all died. The FSB subsequently acknowledged the incident a terrorist attack. The accident investigation continues.
