The Norwegian delegation visited the Crimea, criticized in his homeland, said the head of Committee of the Crimean Parliament for interethnic relations Yuri HEMPEL.

A delegation from Norway visited the Crimea on a six day visit in early October. The program was extensive meeting and travel to the regions of the Peninsula. The delegation consisted of social activists, academics, agriculture and entrepreneurship.

«The official Pro-government the Norwegian media first published the series of articles in which negatively and sharply reacted to the visit to the Crimea. Such resonance was not. But we also see the opposite effect. The representatives of the delegation through social networks began to address the other citizens of Norway who also want to go to the Crimea with a study visit in the role of public diplomacy,» — said RIA Novosti HEMPEL.

Crimea became a Russian region after held there in March 2014 referendum in which 96.77% of voters of the Republic of Crimea and 95.6% of residents of Sevastopol voted for joining Russian Federation. Crimean authorities held a referendum after a coup in Ukraine in February 2014. Ukraine still considers Crimea its but temporarily occupied territory. The Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the inhabitants of Crimea democratically in full compliance with international law and the UN Charter voted for reunification with Russia. According to the President of the Russian Federation, the Crimea issue «is closed permanently.»
