The shelf life of penalty letters from the traffic police in post offices will be reduced from 30 to seven days. The relevant amendments to the decree on the rules of rendering of postal communication services has developed a communications and mass media, reports «Kommersant».

Thus, the letter will be kept the same as judicial notice. If during the week the offender fails to come for him in the office, it gets back to traffic police, after which the penalty will take effect.

The changes are designed to prosecute drivers who intentionally do not get a notification to go beyond the period of limitation for administrative offences.

According to «Kommersant», the draft order of the Ministry of communications held a public discussion as the amendments already considered in the new edition of the law «On postal communication», which entered into force on 3 September. In the «Mail of Russia» the publication explained that to apply the new rules in practice, it is necessary to change the existing departmental rules.
