Britain is ready to create a United in the legal field with the EU customs system, said British Prime Minister Theresa may.

«I do not accept the creation of the border in the Irish sea. The EU is actively discussing with us proposals on customs settlement… To overcome the impasse, we propose to create a joint customs area of the UK and the EU, linked at the legislative level,» said Mae, speaking in Parliament.

According to her, the border issue with the Republic of Ireland remains one of the most challenging, because of it the parties cannot reach agreement on a common document about the terms Brexit.

«The important issue is to avoid the creation of a real border in Ireland. This is our commitment (to residents of Northern Ireland),» added may.

Speaking about the extension of the transition period after Brexit, the Prime Minister said that would not want this, however in some circumstances the introduction of such period possible.

«I wasn’t going to increase transition and don’t want to do. I believe that any form of increase of the time of such period will be unwanted. But there are some circumstances in which an increase in the transition period might be desirable», — said the Prime Minister.

The UK will leave the EU on 29 March 2019. While the transition period is planned to organize in the relations of the EU and Britain in case of reaching agreement on the terms Brexit is defined in 21 months — until the beginning of 2021.
