China expressed the U.S. concern with the passage of U.S. warships through the Taiwan Strait and urged Washington deliberate approach to the Taiwan issue, said at a briefing on Tuesday the official representative of Chinese foreign Ministry Hua Chunying.

The Ministry of national defense of Taiwan announced that two us warships passed through the Taiwan Strait, it was noted that the route of us ships in the waters of Taiwan is completely under the control of government forces.

«The Chinese side is closely watching everything the path of movement of American warships in the Taiwan Strait, and has expressed to US its concern on this issue», — said the diplomat.

She added that the Taiwan question remains one of the most important and sensitive in U.S.-China relations. «China insists that the US adhered to the principle of «one China» policy, observe the three joint Sino-us communiqué carefully and deliberately approached the Taiwan issue in order to avoid damage stability in the Taiwan Straits and the bilateral relations of Beijing and Washington,» — said Hua Chunying.

Earlier media, citing us officials reported that the United States is considering a new operation, in which American ships will be held again across the Taiwan Strait.

In July, the U.S. has carried out such a mission and spent two ships across the Taiwan Strait. In connection with the operation of China urged the US not to undermine bilateral relations and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

Official relations between the Central government of China and the island province was interrupted in 1949 after defeated in the civil war with the Communist party of China Kuomintang forces headed by Chiang Kai-shek moved to Taiwan. Business and informal contacts between Taiwan and mainland China resumed in late 1980-ies. Since the early 1990-ies, the parties began to communicate through non-governmental organizations, the Beijing Association for the development of relations across the Taiwan Strait and Taipei Fund exchanges across the Strait.
