The Chairman of regional branch of Party of pensioners for social justice in Primorye, Julia Tolmacheva, and in September participated in elections of the head of the region, became a public Advisor to the acting Governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako, reported the regional administration.

Kozhemyako said that plans to participate in elections of the head region as an independent candidate. In early October, members of the legislative Assembly of Primorye adopted a law that allows independents to participate in elections of the Governor of the region.

«Yulia Tolmacheva noted that the proposal of Oleg Kozhemyako «to consolidate power and become an Advisor» was seen as an opportunity to directly voice the problems of the residents and gaining more insight into the working mechanisms of the Executive authorities», — stated in the message.

Tolmacheva expressed hope for constructive cooperation with the authorities of the region.

«As the main topics that I plan to curate in the role of Advisor, of course, remain social and development issues of the region in the context of investment policy,» she said.

On elections of the head region in September Tolmachev scored 10.8% of the votes.

The electoral Commission of Primorye, on the recommendation of the CEC of the Russian Federation recognized the results of the September elections of the head region is invalid. Former acting Governor of the Primorsky territory Andrei Tarasenko declared that considers correct the decision to cancel the election results. The candidate from the Communist party Andrei Ishchenko has expressed readiness to challenge the results in the three territories, Ussuriysk, Artyom and Nakhodka. All, they filed more than 30 lawsuits, said the candidate from the Communist party. New elections will be held on December 16.
