The Georgian Parliament has registered a bill according to which the manufacture, distribution or importation of cards with the violation of the territorial integrity of the state will become a criminal offence.

As reported by Sputnik Georgia, the authors of the document are deputies from the ruling party «Georgian dream — democratic Georgia» — the head of Committee on defense and security Irakli Sesiashvili and Otar Chrdileli.

According to the draft amendments to the Criminal code will be a new article «343 prima» — the «manufacture, production, distribution, advertising, sales, import into Georgia or export from Georgia edition of the printed map, made in violation of the territorial integrity of Georgia or a product containing such an image».

The authors of the bill proposed to punish by fine or deprivation of freedom for a period up to two years.

On amendments to the criminal code of Georgia spoke once during the 43rd world chess Olympiad in Batumi, the delegation of the Russian Khanty-Mansiysk volunteers distributed Souvenirs among them was a world map on which was indicated Georgia without Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The competition was held from 23 September to 6 October.

Abkhazia and South Ossetia are de facto not controlled by the Central authorities of Georgia since the early 90-ies of the last century. Moscow recognized the independence of these republics after the August 2008 war. In response, Tbilisi broke off diplomatic relations with Russia and gave these regions the status of the occupied territories.
